A few ideas on how to make the most of the budget you have for your child’s special day if you are opting for an organised party at an activity/sport/soft play or craft centre:

1 Find a few centres near you that provide for parties and see when there off-peak times are, if you can have a party at those times see if you can negotiate a discount.

2. Could you negotiate a discount for not having a party host and hosting yourself?

3. If you have friends with children that like similar things/places then suggest to the centre that you will do a block booking of say 2,3 or 4 parties if they offer you a discount.

4. Consider a joint-party for your child and a friend of theirs, sharing the event with another parent can make for a wonderful time and cut the cost!

5. Many centres have a minimum no. of children requirement on booking - if you have a lot of friends attending the party see if you can negotiate a discount on a per child basis on anything over the minimum no. They will provide for the minimum so anything over is a bonus! (This could be an option if considering a joint-party)

6. Remember, if you don’t ask you don’t get!! The credit crunch affects families and businesses alike so if you are offering them business they will often consider discounts if you approach it in the right way. Politeness and reasonableness can go a long way
